Dr Jayant Kumar is a renowned orthopaedic surgeon based in JAMSHEDPUR, Jharkhand   His strong academic foundation was laid during his schooling in the prestigious St Xavier’s School, Bokaro Steel City. He then qualified in the state entrance examinations to start his training for undergraduate degree of MBBS in 1998. After finishing his undergruadute training from Patliputra medical college , Dhanbad ,he qualified through the all India entrance examinations to obtain a training opportunity in orthopaedics from the well renowned institute of BJ Medical college & Civil hospital Ahmedabad, Gujarat,which is ranked to be one of the largest government hospital in Asia.

After completing his postgraduate degree of MS orthopaedics, he went for superspeciality training in arthroscopy and sports injuries from one of the best training centers in India viz ORTHO ONE,Coimbatore, which is an ISAKOS recognized center . His dedication and desire to learn more provided him an opportunity to train with some of the most skilled surgeons of the world in Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea. In Seoul he did his superspeciality training for surgeries of shoulder and upper extremity. His stay in South Korea was extended further when he was awarded with another superspecialty training opportunity in Orthopaedic Trauma, from Guro Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea. He returned back to India and got the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training from JPN Trauma Center, New Delhi.

He worked as an assistant professor of orthopaedics for one year in Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Medical College , Rajkot, Gujarat,. His desire to excel further brought him to New Delhi, where he joined as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for joint replacement , arthroscopy and trauma surgeries in Indian Spinal Injuries Center. He worked there for 3 years full time after which he has extended his consultation services to many other hospitals in Delhi & Gurgaon. He presently is working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and unit incharge with the renowned TATA MAIN HOSPITAL, JAMSHEDPUR. He continues to pursue his interest in teaching and academics by working as an assisitant professor in orthopaedics in Manipal Tata Medical College, Jamshedpur.

As an academician he has been regularly invited as a faculty in several national conferences in India. He also enjoys the priviledge of having published several research papers under his name in pubmed indexed journals. As a surgeon he now has an experience of over 5000 surgeries in India & abroad.

As his experience in the field of orthopaedics crosses the twelve year mark , he aims to utilize his knowledge and experience for the betterment of his patients and the society as a whole.
